PART I - Autobiography This section involves two components: A personal leadership autobiography constructed in a manner similar to the short speech given in session 1 relating influences on your understanding of good leadership. Relate various leadership positions you have held and what you learned about yourself as a leader. These do not need to be formal positions. Have you found yourself taking responsibility for group projects? Has your supervisor given you any specific tasks to oversee? The two components should be integrated into a single narrative. The document should be constructed in APA formatting (you wont be citing resources, but do include a title page for the portfolio) and be no more than four pages in length (complete, yet concise). PART 2 – Analysis of Leadership Traits Before beginning to write this section, complete the Leadership Trait Analysis document. The data from this document is to be used to complete the SWOT Analysis. Using the notes from the SWOT Analysis, write a narrative description of your leadership traits. Describe the strengths you have identified. Give examples of how they have been helpful to you as a leader. (Don’t just say “I am a good communicator.” Give an example: I have noticed that when I work on a team that is having difficulty deciding on a plan of action I am often able to reframe the problem and break it down into tasks that allow us to move forward.) Describe the weaknesses you have identified. Give examples of how they have made problems for your leadership. Describe any external threats you have identified. How will they impact your leadership plan? Do you have any control over them, or will you need to be prepared to flex your plan? (Need to improve a skill vs. world-wide recession) Finally, what is your plan to strengthen your areas of weakness? Is there a way that your weakness can actually become an asset? For instance, if you have problems speaking up, could you listen to others and take notes so that you can summarize the group’s thinking and clarify options? Be non-partisan Code of Conduct Compliance with law All employees are required to protect our company’s legality. It is important they should comply with all environmental and fair dealing laws. Employees to be ethical and responsible whenever dealing with our company finances, and public image. Respect in the workplace All employees are expected to respect their colleagues. We advocate for an equal opportunity policy and discriminatory behavior harassment or victimization is not allowed. Respect for company assets All employees are expected to treat the company’s property with respect and care. Employees should therefore not misuse company equipment and should respect all trademarks, copyright, and other property. Employees should, however, use them to complete their job duties only and the duty protects the company facilities and material property from damage and vandalism. Personal appearance When it comes to personal appearance, employees should be neat and tidy, and be decent always. Corruption Corruption is prohibited within and outside the company. Accepting gifts is discouraged. Job duties and authority All employees should fulfill their job duties with integrity and respect for all stakeholders and the community at large. Absenteeism and tardiness Employees need to follow their schedules. However, there are exceptions that may prevent employees from following the  as stipulated in the contract. Conflict of interest Employees are expected to avoid any personal, financial, or other interests which may hinder their capability or willingness to fulfill their work duties. Collaboration At the workplace, employees are expected to be friendly and work harmoniously with everyone. Communication All employees are required to remain open for communication and dialogue with their colleagues, clients, and employers at all times. Assessment of individual strengths and weaknesses with respect to the various leadership traits described. Action plans for both strengths and weaknesses. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses. I chose YouTube because I am assertive, creative, very authentic, and hardworking, enthusiastic amongst others. These strengths are inherent to me, and I strive for constant development and improvement. I also have weaknesses that I will seek to correct resilience, adaptability, and engagement. These include. This essay aims to describe the actions to develop and strengthen my strengths and eliminate my weaknesses. For my strengths, the following stand out. One is consistency: I have loyal followers that I have acquired over time and am always posting content regularly and consistently. The audience knows of my dedication and is always looking forward to my new content. Secondly authenticity. I’m always being myself and not trying to be someone else. My audience knows me at a personal level. The third one is that I am very original. My content is always unique and creative and that sets me apart from other creators in my niche. Over time, my belief is that I will stand out and build a distinct brand and following over the next few months. The next one is passion. I chose a niche that I am passionate about and this makes it more enjoyable for me to create. I have a few weaknesses that need to be addressed. One is engagement. I need to devise better ways to interact with my audience by responding to comments, creating polls, and hosting live streams. I think building a community around my channel can help increase engagement and loyalty. Also, I am very poor when it comes to adaptability. I need to be more open to changes and evolving in YouTube with the platform. I need to be proactive in learning new skills, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies, and experimenting with new formats and styles.
