Replied to this post: Fascism is a philosophy of government. It refers to a political movement more specifically a government that is controlled by a dictator. This type of government doesn't allow for the people to have much of a voice. They aren't allowed to disagree and have opposite feelings that the government has. The dictator is in full control and the people within the government have no say. Many don't agree with this type of government however, it took a rise and increase of popularity in Europe. Economic issues played a huge role in the increase of fascism. From shortages of food to unemployment. After the war the economy decreased and many were left unemployed. Those who were unemployed struggled with money while the poor class that were employed faced many poor working conditions. From barely being payed to the poor conditions many strikes and riots took place. All of this caused a mass amount of chaos and disorganization. While the poor were suffering the rich and the working class were thriving. The fear of the rising power of the working class allowed for fascism to rise. People began to want a united and strong government because of all the chaos. They wanted a strong economy and government. Fascism in Europe did help its economy and government. It helped decrease the amount of people who were employed to better the economy. Although it might be viewed as an extreme philosophy in the government it did help to regulate and improve Europes economy. From the Great Depression to the decrease of employment, Europe was in need of help and fascism did that. With all that being said, the economic crisis was the main reason for the growth and popularity of fascism in Europe in the 1920's and 1930's. Being that the main reason for fascism was to organize a society that is rules by a dictator, Europe was in great need of this. They needed something to help better organize their society, improve their society, improve their economic status, and lastly help the poor working class. All of this helped contribute to the popularity of fascism in Europe.
